Wedding at the Courtyard, Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Last month, I packed up my belongings and drove east along I-40 to Raleigh, North Carolina. I’ve always loved the East Coast, so when the opportunity to relocate presented itself, I thought I should probably grab hold. The area is absolutely gorgeous, so many beautiful trees. I have been fortunate to meet some really interesting talented people, and last week had a chance to do some work for one. Kevin Seifert asked me to work as a second shooter for a wedding in Chapel Hill, held at a venue called the Courtyard. The ceremony started with a parade down Franklin Street with the groom and many of the couple’s friends and family. The procession stopped every little bit and danced and sang. It was easily one of the most joyous weddings I’ve ever been a part of. Unfortunately, midway through, my poor decision not to hydrate well caught up with me, as did the 100-degree heat. All’s well that ends well, though, and Montek and Mary had a beautiful wedding mixing Sikh customs with American ones.
